As food and health editors, we have the privilege of being able to test all kinds of new delicious products in the grocery market. While there are the occasional groceries that didn’t exactly make the cut for our own pantries, every now and then, we taste a product that we can’t help but wonder how we ever survived without it. Between healthy snacks to stock up on or frozen meals to have on hand when you need something in a pinch, we’ve discovered quite a few grocery products this year that we feel deserve to be considered the best-of-the-best. Whether they were released in 2023 or within the past few years, these are the items we loved this year — and are absolutely worth making room for in your pantry and fridge.

Deep Indian Chicken Biryani

I’m a big fan of pretty much all of Deep Indian Kitchen’s frozen food lineup, but their recent release of the Chicken Biryani is worth highlighting. That spicy yogurt sauce paired with the saffron rice? It’s a lunch made in heaven. Truly.

SeaPack Dynamite Shrimp

I’m still beyond shocked how this shrimp quite literally tasted like dynamite. The texture is perfectly crispy, tossed with that tangy orange sauce, it’s my new favorite thing to throw in the oven for a quick lunch at home. I’ll pair it with a side salad and lunch is served in just minutes!

Taylor Farms Pizza Ranch Mini Chopped Salad Kit

Speaking of a side salad, I’m currently in love with these mini chopped salad kits from Taylor Farms. A perfect serving for one, they make it easy to add a protein and have lunch ready without having to assemble a salad…or eat a soggy salad that you prepped at the beginning of the day. The Pizza Ranch is my particular favorite; still can’t believe how tasty that dressing is.

Lucesca Toscana Olive Oil

High quality olive oil makes all the difference when it comes to cooking, or even dressing salads, and this is by far my new favorite. I promise you, once you try this Lucesca Toscana has family-made extra virgin olive oil, you likely aren’t going to want to buy that cheap discount olive oil never again.

Honey Smoked Salmon Stackers

Growing up, I was always a sucker for a Lunchable. If I found one of those in my lunchbox during the school day, it turned into the best day ever no matter what. So you can imagine my excitement when I discovered Honey Smoked Salmon’s Stackables this year; it’s got that snacking, “lunchable” feel with a touch of class. Smoked salmon, herbed cream cheese, and crunchy crackers? Sign me UP.

Sweet Loren’s Fudgy Brownie Gluten-Free Pre-Cut Cookie Dough

While I love to make cookies from scratch, having to make so many at once just isn’t plausible when I just want one or two at a time. I’ve been in the habit of stocking up on Sweet Loren’s cookie dough this year, popping one or two in the oven when I want a dessert with minimal effort. They’re fudgy and delicious, and the exact touch of chocolate sweetness I crave at the end of the day! Perfect to pair with a cup of tea, too.

Daring Fly By Jing Chicken Bowls

I’m pretty much a sucker for anything with chili crisp on it, so a frozen dinner made by Fly By Jing (one of the best makers of chili crisp on the mass market) made with plant-based chicken from Daring? Yep. It’s a staple in my freezer now.

Genio Frozen Pizza Bianca

This is by far the best frozen pizza I’ve ever had. The crust is *chef’s kiss* perfect; it tastes like it just came from an artisanal pizza spot, without the effort of having to book a flight to Italy. Highly recommend.

Brazi Bites Blueberry Waffles

Frozen waffles are great staples to have on hand when you’re looking for a quick breakfast with minimal effort, and these Brazi Bite’s blueberry waffles always seem to hit the spot. Not only are they delicious with a hot cup of coffee in the morning (especially after a grueling workout), but they are full of good-for-you ingredients that leave me feeling satisfied instead of hungry for more.

Kevin’s Natural Foods Korean BBQ-Style Beef

When I have no idea what I want to cook for dinner, I turn to Kevin’s Natural Foods. Often. The entrees and the sauces make throwing dinner together a mindless, simple task, and they are so good every time. While I would say the entire catalog of Kevin’s Natural Foods is delicious, the Korean BBQ-Style Beef is currently a favorite; delicious when paired with a fried rice using up all of those leftover veggies in your fridge.

London Fog Clevr Superlatte Mix

Clevr’s healthy SuperLattes have always been a favorite cozy beverage for me in the afternoon. They give you that boost of energy and nutrition, and also taste absolutely delicious. Their newest flavor, London Fog, is perfect for any lovers of creamy black tea beverages.

Boisson Sips Small Batch Mixer Blackberry & Sage

Sometimes I’m not in the mood for an alcoholic beverage at the end of the day, so I like having a bottle of Boisson Sips small batch on hand for when I want something fancy without the booze. Simply pair a small amount with a sparkling water of your choice, and voila! A delicious mocktail without having to make it yourself. Prefer the booze? Don’t worry, it’s still great with a sparkling wine, wink wink.

Fromager d’Affinois Garlic & Herbs

Not only was I pumped to find out that Fromager d’Affinois soft cheeses are lactose free, but they are the perfect cheese to grab when you need to put together a cheeseboard. The Garlic & Herbs is a particular favorite flavor for my grazing boards, pairing well with savory or sweet crackers.

California Olive Ranch Roasted Garlic Sauce

California Olive Ranch released a line of marinara sauces this year, and while all of them are quite tasty, I have to say the Roasted Garlic is definitely my favorite. The garlic isn’t too overpowering; it has just enough. This sauce works well for pasta of course, but it’s also great for making homemade pizza!

Barilla Chickpea Orzo

I’m a big fan of chickpea pasta, so when Barilla gave me the chance to try their chickpea orzo, I was hooked. This orzo is almost creamy when cooked, and makes for an excellent alternative if you want a risotto, or even in your salad if you’re not a fain of quinoa but you want some kind of high-protein grain.

Egglife Sweet Cinnamon Wraps

Yes, these wraps are made from eggs, but you can’t even tell. They are tasty, filling, and extremely versatile for all of your breakfasting, lunching, or snacking needs. I particularly love the Sweet Cinnamon wraps, which I love to pair with peanut butter, fresh sliced fruit (like banana, apples, or strawberries), and either some granola or a few chocolate chips. Because why not!
