There are a few misnomers when it comes to frozen food and most of them fall into two camps. While there are definitely some frozen foods that should be consumed in moderation, there are other prepackaged frozen foods that can be beneficial for the mind and body. There happen to be several Trader Joe’s frozen breakfast food items that come packed with a punch of protein to give you enough energy to make it to lunch with ease.

1. The Eggwich

The Eggwich breadless breakfast sandwich from Trader Joe’s is perfect for a low-carb diet. Two fluffy scrambled egg patties bookend a turkey sausage patty and slice of American cheese to make this a hearty sandwich for a morning start.

Each sandwich has 190 calories, 3 grams of carbs, and less than 1 gram of sugar per serving. This Trader Joe’s frozen breakfast food is also high in protein (16 grams per serving) which will help keep you full throughout your busy morning.

2. Egg Frittata

Egg lovers will also love this tasty frozen breakfast dish made up of egg and swiss cheese. However, Trader Joe’s Egg Frittata’s protein-packed ingredient list doesn’t stop there.

Cauliflower and fried onions also work to make this savory breakfast food irresistible. When adding up the use of egg whites, whole eggs, and whey protein concentrate rounds out to about 12 grams of protein and 15% of your daily calcium needs.

3. Organic Açaí Bowl

Those needing a refreshing and tart start to their morning will not be able to resist this cold treat: the Trader Joe’s Organic Açaí Bowl. Composed of organic fruit — strawberries, blueberries, and bananas — unsweetened coconut chips, unsweetened coconut beverage, and the main event: açaí.

Once the contents of the Trader Joe’s frozen breakfast dish have been thawed, the organic, gluten-free, granola (made up of chia seeds, quinoa flakes, and amaranth flakes) will replenish the hungriest early riser and give them a boost of energy with 4 grams of protein per serving.

4. Cauliflower Pancakes

Now hold on, hear us out. While the idea of cauliflower pancakes might seem a bit confusing, they’re actually more like a hashbrown. Cauliflower Pancakes are an amazing source of protein and fiber with each two-piece serving containing 7 grams of protein and only 2 grams of sugar. Top each with a fried or poached egg for an extra protein boost in the morning.

5. Organic Silver Dollar Pancakes

If cauliflower pancakes don’t really have that “classic breakfast” that we all sometimes crave, Trader Joe’s does carry organic silver dollar pancakes in their frozen section. These mini-sized pancakes contain 8 grams of protein at just 220 calories per serving, which is 11 mini pancakes. Top them with a handful of berries from Trader Joe’s Organic Mixed Berry Blend for extra fiber.

6. Frozen Blueberry Waffles

Made with whole-wheat flour and fruit juice concentrates, these frozen waffles are perfect for a busy parent or commuter constantly on the go. Just pop them into the toaster for a few minutes, and the naturally sweet flavoring will tingle the taste buds enough to carry you through to lunch

One serving (two waffles) contains just 6 grams of sugar, 5 grams of heart-healthy monounsaturated fat, and 5 grams of fiber for 240 calories.
