Elle Macpherson’s Mini Cleanse Smoothie Bowl
By Elle Macpherson
Before each season begins I find it’s great to do a little cleanse; it helps flush out my system. After spending a week at The Ranch Malibu, I go vegan for a week—no fish, eggs, or animal products, and just choosing raw recipes. To start my day, I go with a mini-cleanse smoothie bowl.
I know that I feel my best when I am fit and exercising regularly. I have learned the importance of variety, of mixing it up and the value of quality over quantity. I love outdoor sports, yoga, pilates, boxing, swimming, hiking, running, cycling! A new priority of mine is to get my seven hours of sleep a night—not only does it help me feel restored, but it also means that I’m at my optimum every day. I have a bedtime ritual, which includes drinking our Sleep Welle Fortified Calming Tea every night. I’ve also discovered the lovely power of aromatherapy—it all helps me relax, wind down, and easily drift off into a much-needed deep sleep.
The most important lesson I’ve learned about health is that an alkaline body is a healthier body. Many people believe that this state combats disease, encourages cellular renewal and is, therefore, anti-ageing. When all of our 11 body systems are nourished well and detoxifying properly, they are in their optimal state. Since I’ve been taking my Super Elixir Alkalising Greens, my workouts are strong, I’ve lost weight, my moods are balanced, I don’t have sugar cravings and I feel on top of my game. I take two teaspoons in water or coconut water religiously every day – and twice when I am traveling. Try this smoothie cleanse recipe below to start your day happily and healthfully.
