We have witnessed the rise of cauliflower as the ultimate multipurpose ingredient. However, if you’re anything like me, then you have probably had your fill of cauliflower crust pizza or gnocchi. Luckily, since cauliflower is such a diverse ingredient, we have so many different ways for you to utilize it. Here’s some fun tips to switch up your cauliflower game.

Get Your Wing On!

Cauliflower acts as a great alternative to chicken wings. The texture is very similar to the real deal and once you add your favorite sauce, it’s hard to tell the difference. Here’s the trick, make a batter for your cauliflower by combining milk, flour (you can use gluten- and grain-free options), garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Coat your cauliflower florets in the batter then transfer and bake for 20 minutes in a 425ºF oven, then remove them from the oven and add your favorite sauce (I love Buffalo) and bake for another 15 minutes. Such a simple and delicious way to get a serving of vegetables.

Try a Cauliflower Steak Dinner

Like steak? Cauliflower steaks are a delicious plant-based alternative to the classic meat eaters staple. Simply cut your cauliflower lengthwise right through the steam to get your “steaks”. Next, brush your steaks with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Sear them on both sides in a hot pan until they start to get a nice brown caramelization, then finish them in the oven for 10 minutes to soften the core. You can also make cauliflower steaks by roasting them for longer and flipping them halfway through like in this recipe. These steaks are delicious when finished with pesto or a chimichurri sauce.

Not Your Average Fried Rice

Cauliflower fried rice is a great way to boost your vegetable intake and yes, using cauliflower rice really does taste like your favorite fried rice dish. I like to make my own cauliflower rice but you should definitely buy it pre-packaged if that works for you. Make your own rice by adding raw cauliflower pieces to your food processor and pulsing until you have small crumbles. Saute your cauliflower with minced garlic, salt, and pepper until the moisture begins to evaporate, then you can add your other fried rice vegetables and that delicious soy sauce or coconut aminos. Try it out tonight by making this recipe.

Embrace Soup Season

It’s officially soup season and cauliflower soup is my absolute jam! I add cut-up cauliflower, onion, and garlic to vegetable broth and simmer until tender. Then just blend it with an immersion blender or regular blender. So easy! Try adding in some curry powder to kick up the flavor even more. Here’s a great simple recipe to get you started.
