When it’s boiling outside, we all need easy ways to cool off (that don’t involve standing in front of the open fridge). One of the most delicious ways to do it is to whip up a cool, frosty dessert. Given that we still want to get in plenty of nutrients and fiber each day, incorporating fruit into those chilly treats is smart and tasty. We gathered up six easy, indulgent-tasting frozen fruit dessert recipes so you can chill out and treat yourself at the same time. The best part: All have little or no added sugar, so the fruit flavor is the star.

1. Viral TikTok 1-Ingredient Shaved Ice

1-Ingredient Shaved Ice

This incredibly simple dessert needs just one ingredient: frozen fruit — in this case, watermelon. Freeze it, then shave it with a box grater or microplane, and you have a frosty treat with no sugar added. Adding a bit of Tajin chili-lime seasoning and/or a drizzle of condensed milk adds pizzazz, if you want to.

2. No-Churn 3-Ingredient Mango Sorbet

No-Churn Mango Sorbet

Mango is so rich and creamy on its own, no wonder it’s the perfect base for this frosty sorbet. (Bonus: It’s also loaded with vitamins C and A.)  A touch of both lime juice and maple syrup brings out the tropical fruit’s natural sweetness. Add a pinch of sea salt to brighten it.

Take a trip to the tropics with these three-ingredient, no-added-sugar popsicles — a perfect frozen fruit dessert. Whir pineapple, bananas, and oranges in a blender, pour into popsicle molds, and freeze, and that’s it. Add a bit of coconut, too, if you like.

4. Watermelon Granita

Watermelon granita

Watermelon gets two places in this collection, not only because it’s delicious, but also because it’s super hydrating, just what you want on hot days. Puree the watermelon, mix it with lime and a little (optional) sugar), then freeze. Scrape it into tiny shards. Repeat the freezing and scraping until you get the texture you want. It’s a perfect treat to enjoy at a barbecue.

5. Berry Nice Cream

Berry Nice Cream

No collection of frozen fruit desserts would be complete without “nice cream” —  a creamy, non-dairy ice cream made with a base of frozen banana or avocado. Here it’s a mix of bananas, strawberries, and blueberries, and it’s so luscious, you won’t miss the sugar or cream one bit. Swap vanilla for the orange extract in the recipe if you like, and add some peanut butter for a PB&J spin.

6. Frozen Peaches and Cream

Frozen peaches and cream

Frozen fruit that you shave on a microplane was all the rage on TikTok for a while — and we’re still enjoying it. In this version, you mix whipped cream with plain yogurt, then shave a frozen peach on top. Sprinkle some granola or chopped nuts on top, and you could even have it for breakfast.
