I know from personal experience that when your belly is rumbling, you don’t have a lot of time to mess around before becoming the hangry Hulk. (What, is it just me?) And when you’re craving a midday treat, you want it to be on your plate and in your mouth quickly. That’s where these healthy snack recipes come in. From a dessert hummus (yum!) to chickpea tuna salad, these snacks take 10 minutes or less to make — so you’ve got no excuses. And when the food is this easy and delicious, who needs an excuse anyway?

1. Healthy Apple Nachos from The Simple Veganista

Apples and nut butter are a classic combo, but if you’re looking to up the ante a bit, look no further than these apple “nachos.” Just slice up your apple, drizzle with your favorite nut butter, and top with add-ons like chocolate chips, coconut flakes, chopped almonds, and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

P.S. For another clever way to make apples feel a bit more indulgent, try these Healthy Apple Donuts from Lauren Fuentes. It’s basically the same idea, but with apple rounds instead of slices.

A quesadilla can be an easy weeknight dinner, but it can also be a perfect afternoon snack, especially when it’s this Mediterranean-inspired vegan version. Using your favorite store-bought hummus mean this takes almost no time to make. Make it even speedier by using roasted garlic hummus and omitting the diced garlic clove in the recipe.

3. How to Make Supercharged Popcorn

One of my partner’s favorite healthy snack recipes is popcorn because it’s easy to make and full of fiber. It’s also endlessly customizable. We like to shower ours with cheesy-tasting nutritional yeast, a kick of cayenne pepper, omega 3-rich hemp seeds, and energy-boosting spirulina.

I absolutely love a snack that can go from afternoon pick-me-up to delectable dinner side dish. Here, cucumbers get infused with Asian flavors thanks to a combination of rice wine vinegar, honey, and toasted sesame oil. On a hot summer day, the freshness of this salad really shines.

This of this as a mash-up of two already perfect snacks: capreses salad and avocado toast. It has everything you need: healthy fats, protein, and hearty grains. What more could you ask for? If you’re gluten-free, you can easily swap the toast for your favorite gluten-free bread

7. 10-Minute Chickpea Tuna Salad from Dishing Out Health

This super-simple tuna salad recipes adds chickpeas and plain Greek yogurt to the mix for even more protein. As for the hot sauce? If you’re not a fan of heat, you can skip it, but don’t mind me as I add more. And more. And more…

10. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Hummus from Live Eat Learn

If you haven’t heard of dessert hummus yet, then you’re missing out. This delectable treat, which pairs chickpeas and tahini with melted white chocolate, and chocolate chip, is easy to throw together when you’re craving something sweet but filling. Enjoy with apple slices, your favorite pita crackers, or straight from the spoon.
