Air Fryer Wings with Probiotic Ranch Dip

|
September 13, 2021

Wings and football: is there a more natural pairing? We love the satisfying crunch of biting into the crisp skin, the blast of heat from the spicing, and of course, the falling-off-the-bone juicy meat. Then there’s that great hot-cold sensation from the must-have ranch dressing to dip them into, too… really, they’re the best snack we know of.

But there’s a better way to wing: Cooking your wings in the air fryer means you don’t have to add a bunch of oil, just a light spritz of cooking spray, and the lack of all that excess fat makes them more healthful and leaves your stomach feeling better a couple of hours later. But you can give your gut even more love by whipping up your own ranch dressing, then whisking in Youtheory® Spore Probiotic Powder.

This unique ingredient is flavorless, so nobody will know it’s in there. With six billion viable, broad-spectrum probiotic cells that  are strong enough to survive stomach acid, this powder can help fight off gas, bloating, and other digestive issues that tend to be the side effects of our very favorite foods. We love tossing this powder into everything, and since it doesn’t need to be refrigerated, it doesn’t take up valuable fridge space, and can just stay on the counter.

The ranch dressing in this recipe is so easy (and delicious), you’ll never go back to bottled. While the wings are in the air fryer, just whisk together some yogurt (ooh, more probiotics!), mayo, the Youtheory Spore Probiotic Powder, and a few spices from your pantry, then, get ready to enjoy crispy wings… without worrying about discomfort later.

Try them for game day, or just make them for dinner on a night when you need a quick, easy meal you know the whole family will love.

Ingredients

Probiotic Ranch:

½ cup plain full-fat yogurt

¼ cup mayonnaise (preferably avocado oil or olive oil)

2 tablespoons white vinegar

2 teaspoons dried chives

2 teaspoons dried dill

1½ teaspoons dried parsley

½ teaspoon Dijon mustard

½ teaspoon garlic powder

Fine sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

Wings:

3 pounds chicken wings, pat dry

Fine sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

Olive oil cooking spray

Directions

Make ranch: In a bowl, whisk together yogurt, mayonnaise, probiotic powder, vinegar, chives, dill, parsley, mustard powder and garlic powder. Taste and season with salt and pepper. (Yield: ¾ cup. You can make the ranch up to 2 days ahead; keep covered in the fridge. Flavor will develop as it chills. Whisk before serving.)

Make wings: Preheat the air fryer to 380ºF. Season the wings generously with salt; sprinkle with pepper. Place in the air fryer in a single layer and cook for 20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking time. Raise the heat to 420ºF and cook the wings until deep golden and crisp, 3 to 4 minutes longer. Serve hot, with probiotic ranch.

NOTES:
Do not overcrowd the air fryer. Serve the wings as they come out of the fryer, or keep them warm in the oven as the rest of the wings cook. To keep them warm, preheat the oven to 200ºF; line a baking sheet with a cooling rack misted with cooking spray. Transfer the cooked wings to the rack and place in the oven to keep warm. If you like your ranch thicker, use Greek yogurt.
