Ashia Rain Aubourg was born and raised in Cambridge, MA, and identifies as Black with Haitian and Caribbean roots. She is a graduate of Syracuse University's Food Studies & Policy Studies program, where she focused on analyzing components that make up resilient community food systems. She is currently working with the Chicago Food Policy Action Council and runs a small business selling Caribbean inspired baked-goods and prepared foods at farmer's markets in Chicago. Ashia has written stories for Cuisine Noir and other publications and is passionate about centering BIPOC narratives.
